The Special Series 66 was Oldsmobile's lowest priced group of cars in 1946. The Specials came with Oldsmobile's economical "Fire-Power" six-cylinder engine, although in other years an eight cylinder was offered. The majority of interiors in this series were done in tan mixture pattern cloth with leather interiors offered on convertibles. The standard tire size was 6.00 x 16 inches.
Three-speed manual with column shifter was standard. Fully automatic Hydra Matic transmission was optional.
